The report on the VII All-Russians scientific and practical conference “Topical issues of physical education of youth and student sports”, held on May 24–25, 2024 on the basis of the Saratov National Research State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky.

The report on the II All-Russian scientific and practical conference with international participation “Student sports in the modern world”, held on May 17–18, 2024 on the basis of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, is presented.

The article examines the regulatory framework of army tactical shooting all-around as a military applied sport, and outlines the main directions of its development among students of civilian universities. Examples of mass sports events among students of different levels of training in this sport are given.

Physical education and the corresponding subject in educational programs are traditionally considered as the tools for mastering skills directly related to sport and its certain disciplines. Meanwhile, within the competency-based education approach, physical education can be understood in a much wider context, as a source of development of soft skills and even cognitive abilities. This article considers the preconditions and several country cases of integration of the competency-based approach into the physical education curricula.

The analysis of the textbooks published in recent years and devoted to the improvement of the physical education of students with disabilities (health limitations) shows that all the authors point out negative trends in the health of students in most universities of the country, while the number of first-year students with disabilities and those disabled since childhood increases annually, many of them having the pathology of two or more systems simultaneously.

Analysis of topics of scientific research works conducted in educational institutions of higher education and dissertation research on the issues of physical education of students and student sports was carried out. Systematization of research topics for 2014–2022 was done. It has been established that the vast majority of studies are devoted to physical education. The most common areas are the development of training programs for professionally applied physical training and using means of various sports and physical activity.

The article is devoted to the analysis of organization of the educational process for physical education of students in universities, which is obliged to ensure the formation of students with the necessary universal competencies in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education.

The article is devoted to the history of the emergence and development of student sports at Donetsk National Technical University. The work is based on archival materials of the sports club of Donetsk National Technical University and reflects the events of 1921–2023.

The article deals with the history of the development of physical culture of student youth of the Krasnoyars region. In particular, the results of the implementation of the GTO standards at different stages of the complex’s existence during the 1930s–1950s are analyzed. The main chronological dates of changes in the programs of physical education of students are given. Archival sources are represented by the materials of the State Archive of the Krasnoyarsk region, which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time.

The article touches upon the issues of physical education in higher education within the framework of inclusive education. Its purpose is to describe the options for such organizational and substantive forms. Methods of generalization and systematization of practical experience, logical modeling are used. An algorithm for formation of an inclusive culture among medical students through volunteer activities with children with disabilities is given.
