Abstract:

The relevance of the study is determined by the need to improve the system of professional training of students in the context of modern labor market requirements, which impose increased demands on the psychophysical potential of university graduates. The aim of the study is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the pedagogical conditions for developing professionally significant qualities of students by means of physical education. The research hypothesis is based on the assumption that the formation of professionally significant qualities of students will be effective when implementing a set of pedagogical conditions: integration of general and professionally-applied physical training; application of an individually differentiated approach; use of modern educational technologies; creation of a developing physical education environment. The study was conducted at K. G. Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technology and Management (First Cossack University) with 186 students of technical specialties (average age 19.8 ± 1.2 years). Methods of pedagogical experiment, physical qualities testing, psychological diagnostics, and statistical data processing were applied. It was established that the implementation of the developed set of pedagogical conditions provides a significant increase in indicators of general endurance (by 18.7%), strength abilities (by 14.3%), coordination qualities (by 21.5%), as well as improvement of volitional qualities of students: purposefulness (by 15.2%), persistence (by 12.8%), self control (by 16.4%). A positive correlation was revealed between the level of physical fitness and the formation of professionally significant personality qualities (r = 0.68; p < 0.01). The obtained results confirm effectiveness of an integrative approach to the formation of professionally significant qualities of students by means of physical education.
