Efficiency of digital technology implementation in physical education classes in higher educational institutions
The paper presents the results of a study aimed at evaluating effectiveness of using digital technologies in physical education classes at universities. The experiment was conducted at the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics and involved 240 students divided into control and experimental groups. The digital model incorporated online platforms, mobile applications, and fitness trackers to monitor physical activity, heart rate, class motor density, and students‘ motivation level. Particular attention was paid to the integration of the functional exercise “burpee” into the digital technology programmes used in classes. Findings indicated that students in the experimental group exhibited statistically significant improvements in endurance, engagement, motivation, and overall functional fitness. The average heart rate during classes in the experimental group reached the aerobic level, while in the control group this indicator remained below this threshold. The use of digital tools also led to reduced class absenteeism and increased interest in physical activity. The findings confirm the effectiveness of digital technologies and functional training elements in enhancing physical education within the framework of modern higher education.
