The article presents the results of student sports development monitoring in the Russian Federation. The main trends that determine the vector of development of this direction, including those within the framework of the implementation of the disciplines of the module “Physical culture and sports”, extracurricular work in the field of student sports, and the activities of student sports leagues are identified.

The article is devoted to the analysis of sport as a sphere of constructing the youth’s life strategies.
