Abstract:

In martial arts, good flexibility provides an athlete with freedom and speed, economy of movement, increases efficiency of applying effort when performing a variety of physical exercises, even the most difficult ones. If flexibility is not developed enough, then engaged in combat sports is limited in the choice of blows during the battle and movements of individual parts of the body. At the same time, karate coaches do not always devote enough time to the development of flexibility in the training process of their trainees, focusing on the strength and speed abilities of athletes. In this regard, an attempt to expand the working tools of karate trainers by developing a set of exercises with stretching elements aimed at developing flexibility seemed relevant. In the course of this study, a pedagogical experiment was conducted aimed at determining effectiveness of using the developed complex in the training process of primary school children engaged in karate at the initial training stage. When comparing the results of preliminary and control testing of the subjects (leaning forward, twisting straight arms with rope, transverse twine and “fold” with heels off the floor), it turned out that in the experimental group there was a significant increase in indicators characterizing the level of development of flexibility.
