The role of educational institutions in training eSports managers: The experience of Siberian Federal University

Abstract: 

In modern conditions, eSports have transformed into a large industry requiring professional management. Particular attention is drawn to the preparation of qualified eSport managers capable of organizing tournaments, being involved in marketing activities, and managing teams. Krasnoyarsk region stands out among leading territories in Russia in terms of developing computer sports competitions, becoming a platform for launching innovative educational initiatives and practices. The aim of this research is to explore the role of Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk) in educating future specialists for the eSport industry, identifying key competencies formed during studies, and evaluating the effectiveness of collaboration between universities and local eSport organizations. This article focuses on the initiative implemented by Siberian Federal University, analyzing the features of its educational program, highlighting essential skills required from graduates, and determining challenges and prospects for further development of eSport education in Krasnoyarsk region.
