The current state of computer sports development in the Russian Federation
The article shows the current state and development trends of student computer sports in the Russian Federation. The relevance of the study is due to the growth of youth interest in esports and its integration into the educational environment. The purpose of the study is to identify the key factors influencing the development of student esports, as well as to formulate recommendations for its further promotion. As a hypothesis, it is suggested that the success of the development of student esports in Russia depends on the level of government support, the development of infrastructure in universities and the availability of a training system for esports students. The methods of statistical data analysis, the study of the regulatory framework, content analysis and a review of opinion polls were used. There has been a steady increase in the number of students involved in esports, an increase in the number of universities with specialized teams, and an expansion of infrastructure. Key barriers have been identified: lack of equipment, weak administrative support, and lack of academic recognition of the achievements of esports students. Proposals are outlined to address the identified problems, including the development of a unified state strategy, the development of a logistical base, and the introduction of esports into training programs. It is concluded that there is a need for an integrated approach to supporting student esports as a significant area of youth policy and digital transformation of education.
