Abstract:

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of development of esports in a large region of the country – Chelyabinsk region. The purpose of the study is to identify regional features and factors influencing the spread and popularization of esports in a given region. We applied a set of analytical research methods: analysis of scientific publications, content analysis, secondary data analysis. The study showed that Chelyabinsk region has significant potential for the development of esports due to active government support, the availability of specialized clubs and playgrounds, as well as high interest among young people. The region regularly organizes major events and competitions that attract participants and spectators from all over the country. To overcome these limitations (uneven distribution of infrastructure and lack of professional staff), comprehensive measures are needed, including cooperation between government agencies, educational institutions and business community. Further development of esports requires active interaction between all stakeholders, which will ensure creation of a sustainable ecosystem for sustainable growth and promotion of esports at all levels.
