The paper presents a report on the III All-Russian scientific and practical conference with international participation “Student Sports in the Modern World”, held on March 14–15, 2025 on the basis of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
Physical culture is a purposeful systematic activity aimed at improving health and developing physical qualities of people. Physical training allows everyone to be ready for high-performance work and protection of their Homeland. The introduction of the All-Russian physical education and sports standard “Ready for Labor and Defense” (further the RLD) into the system of labor, military and patriotic activities has led to the increase in the number of people who are constantly engaged in sports and activities.
Currently, activities aimed at improving the effectiveness of patriotic education of the population in the Russian Federation can hardly be overestimated. A promising tool in this direction is physical culture and sports local lore. However, to date, it has been poorly studied both in theory and in practice. The purpose of the study is to determine the potential of physical culture and sports local lore in the issues of patriotic education of young people.

This article examines the stages of formation and development of innovative digital sports sections, sports programming ones in particular, in the Donetsk People’s Republic in 2022–2024. The process of creating innovative digital sports sections in student sports clubs is shown in order to popularize and attract talented youth to the field of digital technologies. The need for athletes-programmers and cybersportsmen for realization of the full technological sovereignty of our country is noted.
