The problem of integration of the educational process and sports training of student-athletes in organizations of higher education and professional educational organizations is considered. Two ways of solving this problem are given: through the creation of digital services – a service for combining educational activities and sports training and a service for optimizing training activities and through the creation of sports training centers.

The article provides an analysis of the results of the All-Russian Summer Universiades in the period from 2008 to 2022, taking into account the characteristics of the contingent of participants – athletes and coaches representing educational organizations of higher education. The list of sports that were organized in different years of the Universiade is presented. Educational organizations of higher education and regions that are more often among the winners and prizewinners of the All-Russian Summer Universiades are shown.

The article presents a report on the IX All-Russian Forum “Current Issues in the Development of University Sports”, which took place on December 1–2, 2022 at ITMO University in Saint Petersburg.

The article presents an analysis of the activities of student sports leagues in the system of physical education and sports of an educational institution of higher education. The classification is given, as well as the dynamics of the growth in the number of physical culture and sports events among students held by student sports leagues in the Russian Federation for the period of 2019–2022.

The article provides a comparative analysis of the components of competitive reliability of track-and-field runners with different self-esteem in the framework of their performances in two competitive seasons. The surveyed contingent consisted of 30 students of Saratov State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky. According to the results of the analysis, 2 groups of athletes with high and medium self-esteem were identified. The desire for success prevails among athletes with high self-esteem and they focus on participating in competitions.

The article provides a retrospective analysis of the student sports development for the period from 1991 to 2022. The stages of the development are defined based on the research of legislation and other legal acts, strategic planning documents in the fields of physical culture and sports, education and youth policy. The key features of the development of student sports at each stage are presented. Conclusion about the need of a systematic approach to the student sports development is made.

The article presents a report on the I International Scientific and Practical Conference on Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism “World Student Games: History, Modernity and Development Trends”, held on September 16–17, 2022 at the Siberian Federal University in the city of Krasnoyarsk.

The article analyzes performance of the Russian national team at the World Summer and Winter University Games from 2013 to 2021. A brief historic overview of the participation of the USSR national team at the Universiades is outlined. The enumeration of sports, the number and list of participants representing the Russian Federation at the World University Games are given. Dynamics of the awards won, as well as the percentage of athletes with titles and grades at the 2019 Universiades are shown.

The article presents the results of student sports development monitoring in the Russian Federation. The main trends that determine the vector of development of this direction, including those within the framework of the implementation of the disciplines of the module “Physical culture and sports”, extracurricular work in the field of student sports, and the activities of student sports leagues are identified.
