Development of key competencies (soft skills) in students within the framework of socio-professional mobility

The paper substantiates the relevance of developing soft skills of students majoring in teacher training and sports disciplines as a foundation for their socio-professional mobility. The author presents the results of an empirical study assessing the level of communication and organizational abilities of students at the Siberian State University of Physical Education and Sports. Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that systematic development of soft skills within university extracurricular activities is necessary.

Potential of physical education as a tool for the formation of meta-subject competencies and holistic personality development

Physical education and the corresponding subject in educational programs are traditionally considered as the tools for mastering skills directly related to sport and its certain disciplines. Meanwhile, within the competency-based education approach, physical education can be understood in a much wider context, as a source of development of soft skills and even cognitive abilities. This article considers the preconditions and several country cases of integration of the competency-based approach into the physical education curricula.
