Student sports on the air: Basics, challenges and prospects for online streaming of student sports leagues
The results of an analysis of online streaming by student sports leagues for the 2023/2024 academic year are presented. The preferred online platforms are analyzed. Various approaches of leagues to the organization of broadcasts of sports competitions are considered, their advantages and disadvantages are determined. Key content components of broadcasts (scripts, graphics, commentary, additional content components) have been identified on the basis of which a system of online broadcasts evaluation has been proposed to compile a ranked rating which can be used for the evaluation of the student sports league’s performance during the season. Its advantages and problems that require further development and analysis are considered. The results of the evaluation of broadcasts of student sports events and the ratio of audience engagement depending on their quality are compared. The conclusion about the necessity of applying a systematic approach to the development and training of representatives of student sports leagues in the organization of online broadcasts of events and the awareness of the management of the importance of this issue, as well as conducting in-depth research of the problem and identifying the most cost-effective approach to the organization of broadcasts is made.
