Abstract:

The idea of holding distance competitions in sports is not new. With the development of information technology, the possibilities for conducting them have increased. A significant impetus for this trend was given during the period of restrictive measures due to the spread of COVID-19. Today, the distance format of competitions is used in many sports. However, to date, this approach has not been properly analysed theoretically. The purpose of the study is to generalize the experience of conducting distance competitions. Research methods include analysis of information sources, personal experience in the development and implementation of distance sports competitions. Distance sports competitions are a reality that is evolving. In a distance format, one can hold competitions from the arsenal of exercises of almost any sport. Currently, specialists of physical education of students face the task of finding a balance between traditional competition formats and distance ones.
