The impact of physical education and sports on the development of physical qualities of medical students

The health of students is one of the most pronounced indicators of the state of well-being and well-being of the country’s population as a whole, one of the most important key benchmarks determining the well-being of society. Today, the educational process, in terms of its specifics, technology, structure, amount of information and conditions of classes, places demands on young people that do not always match their individual, age, mental and physical capabilities.

Physical culture and sports as means of students’ social initiative development

The article substantiates the relevance of the problem of the development of social initiative of the individual in the modern realities of Russian society; it is proved that students are characterized by the highest social activity, and an educational organization, representing various types of educational and extracurricular activities (innovative, research, social, sports, creative, etc.), has the potential to develop flexible Soft Skills: communicative, organizational and leadership.

Improving teaching of the discipline “Physical culture and sport”

The article is devoted to the analysis of the formation of general cultural competencies among students of a medical university in the context of the division of the discipline “Physical culture and sport” into two disciplines – “Physical culture and sports” and “Elective disciplines on physical culture”. The study of the theoretical sections of the syllabus on physical culture is limited to the framework of the autumn semester of the 1st year after such a division.
