The article provides a comparative analysis of the components of competitive reliability of track-and-field runners with different self-esteem in the framework of their performances in two competitive seasons. The surveyed contingent consisted of 30 students of Saratov State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky. According to the results of the analysis, 2 groups of athletes with high and medium self-esteem were identified. The desire for success prevails among athletes with high self-esteem and they focus on participating in competitions.
